Hidefumi Toki (as.ss.), the leader of the band, had started his proffesional carrier when he was 16 year old boy. He has stayed in the top of the Japanese jazz scene since he released his first album in '75, playing with great musicians such as Sadao Watanabe, Terumasa Hino, Tommy Flanagan and more. After joining the Naoya Matsuoka(Japan's top Lattin pianist) 's Group and Chickenshack(Jazz/R&B band), he formed his own group CRUISING in '89 with Manabu Ohishi (key.) and Fumio Nishiyama (g.). Ko Shimizu (b.), the producer of SPICE of LIFE album, keeping his band NANIWA EXPRESS(Jazz/Fusion band) in 80's and HUMAN SOUL(SOUL/R&B band) in 90's, joined to the band in '94. Cecil Monroe (ds.) joined later in '98. They are playing in Japan in coraboration with rap scene.
